Carragher on Liverpool's transfers: They may already be thinking about next summer

Former Liverpool center back Carragher recently talked about Liverpool's transfer situation on Sky Sports and believed that the Reds may have already considered transfer operations for next summer.

Carragher said: "In the past, under Klopp's leadership, Liverpool always planned 12 months in advance. Their focus is often not on the current transfer window, but on the next one. When Richard Hughes and Edwards joined later, they not only needed to allow the new coach to adapt as quickly as possible, but also had to deal with the contract renewal issues with Salah, Van Dijk and Arnold."

"But I think the reason Liverpool are not buying now is that they may have been planning for next summer. This may sound ridiculous, but in the past 5-10 years, Liverpool has remained calm in the transfer market, which is something I admire about them very much."

"Do they need to strengthen in certain positions? Yes. Is the lineup big enough? Yes. But do they need higher quality players to compete with Manchester City and Arsenal? Of course they do. . But if you make a mistake in the transfer market, or sign the wrong player, it could set the club back 2-3 seasons."

"Richard Hughes mentioned something in his first press conference with the coach. He said that we will take an opportunistic approach in the transfer market. I think they have players they like, and although they may not be able to get them now, once the opportunity arises, they will act immediately."

"It now seems that the Valencia goalkeeper, a goalkeeper for the Georgian national team, may join next season. I don't think Liverpool will bid all over Europe between now and the transfer deadline, but they are indeed paying attention to 2-3 players and will closely monitor the situation of the clubs where these players are located to see if they can take an opportunistic approach as the sporting director said."
