HWG, Romano: Roma has arranged for Hummels to undergo a medical examination today

According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Roma is close to signing Hummels for free, and the deal is expected to be confirmed by "Here we go" soon.

Hummels, 35, became a free agent after his contract with Dortmund expired this summer. After rumors with multiple teams, it now seems that the German star is likely to join Roma in the end.

Romano's report stated that Roma has arranged for Hummels to fly to Italy and undergo a medical examination on Wednesday local time. After offering Hummels a higher contract offer on Tuesday, Roma hopes to finalize the deal after the player's medical examination.

It is worth mentioning that Romano had previously labeled Roma's deals to bring in Lens center back Kevin Danso and Juventus center back Thiago Jalo as "Here we go", but both deals ultimately failed.
