During yesterday's match between Japan and China, some sharp-eyed fans discovered that Japanese men's football goalkeeper Suzuki Ayano and Japanese men's basketball player Hachimura Rui look a bit alike.

In Japan, many media outlets have referred to Suzuki Ayano as "the man who was mistaken for Hachimura Rui." Both are mixed-race. Suzuki Ayano's father is Ghanaian and her mother is Japanese; Hachimura's father is Benin and her mother is Japanese. Both grew up in Japan.
