Kerber: I didn't expect Sommer to quit the Swiss team; it's a wonderful thing to play for my country

Recently, Kerber talked about several topics in an interview, including Sommer's withdrawal from the Swiss national team and how he was appointed as the starting goalkeeper.

Kerber: "Of course, I will be a little nervous, especially before the game, and I am very happy to meet this challenge."

"In my career, I have played some important games, including international competitions, but you can't compare Swiss team games with club games. It is a wonderful thing to wear the national team jersey."

Kerber: "When the news of Sommer's withdrawal from the Swiss team was announced, Jakin called me and we had a pleasant discussion. Of course, I am happy with the news. It means a great honor for me."

Kerber: "I think this is normal. It was my childhood dream to play for the Swiss team. This is the greatest honor in Swiss football. One of the things that you are always thinking about is that when you have been pursuing a goal for so long, you are naturally very happy when you receive such news."

Kerber: "No, I haven't thought about it yet. I only talked about it publicly now because I respect him as a person and his brilliant career with the Swiss team."

Kerber: "Not yet. For me, this period of time also belongs to him."

Kerber: "We are all professional players and want to play in every game, but I always try to make myself serve the whole team, and this is the mentality I want to continue to maintain in the future."

"I think we do have a very good team with excellent players and coaches, and I will do my best to contribute."
