La Liga team Rayo Vallecano officially announced that 33-year-old Colombian midfielder James Rodriguez has joined the team.

According to reporter Romano, James Rodriguez has reached a one-year contract with Rayo Vallecano plus an option to renew for another season, and he wants to return to La Liga.

The 33-year-old James Rodriguez performed well in this summer's America's Cup, contributing 1 goal and 6 assists in 6 appearances, helping the Colombian team reach the final and was elected the best player of the tournament.

James's career began in Colombia's Envigado club in 2006, and then joined Argentina's Banfield in 2008. In 2010, he signed with Portugal's Porto club, where he played for three seasons before moving to Monaco in the 2013-14 season. After the 2014 World Cup, Real Madrid signed the Colombian star for nearly 80 million euros. During his time at Real Madrid, James played 125 times, scored 37 goals and contributed 42 assists, especially in the Champions League. He is now about to return to Spanish football.
