Ricken: We want to compete with the best teams; the first goal is to reach the Champions League round of 16

On August 30, Beijing time, UEFA conducted the draw for the 2024/25 Champions League. Dortmund Sports General Manager Ricken talked about his views on the Champions League draw.

Ricken said: "We are looking forward to the new format and go into the competition with the same ambitions as last year. Our first goal is to reach the last 16. In this new format, every game and every goal is very important. The better your position in the standings, the greater the potential advantage in the knockout stages. Graz is an opponent we have never played against before. I am looking forward to this first meeting and to hearing the Celtic and Dortmund fans singing "You'll Never Walk Alone" together. The game against Barcelona is one of the reasons why we are looking forward to participating in the Champions League: we want to compete against the best teams. It's an interesting combination, both at home and away."
