Swedish coach Eriksson passed away, Atletico Madrid and head coach Simeone posted a message to mourn.

Atletico Madrid officially wrote: "Sven Eriksson, a great legend in the world football coaching bench, has left us. We are all saddened by his death and express our deepest condolences to his family and friends. Rest in peace."

Simone posted a photo with Eriksson and wrote: "Thank you very much, coach, rest in peace."

In his 42-year coaching career, Eriksson has coached Degerfors, Gothenburg, Benfica, Roma, Fiorentina, Sampdoria, Lazio, England, Manchester City, Mexico National Team, Ivory Coast National Team, Leicester City, Guangzhou City, Shanghai Port, Shenzhen Team and the Philippine National Team.
